Andre Perret

One of the top producers based in the village of Condrieu, Andre Perret quietly farms the 13 hectares, which he converted from fruit trees to vineyards in 1982. Farmed sustainably the wines are rather understated examples of what can too often be blousy versions of Viognier. Their beauty is in their purity of expression and restraint and all three wines produced are amongst the best of Condrieu.

The classic Condrieu is a delight while the Chavanay-sourced ‘Clos Chanson’ lifts you to another level, but the 3-hectare single-vineyard ‘Coteau du Chery’ is a near-perfect example of what Condrieu can be – fragrantly intense but beautifully balanced.
