The producer
Despite being a relative latecomer to Priorat, Dominik Huber arrived in 2001 and within twenty years has created wines that are heralded even within the context of the very best of Priorat. Farming according to organically and biodynamic principles, the vineyards rise from 350 to 800 meters. These are wines of amazing freshness and finesse, wines that speak of their terroir in more delicate tones; yet wines that don’t lack in depth and richness of flavor.
Terroir al Limit produces an exemplary range of wines – both white and red - from various plots in Priorat and neighbouring Monstant. This is an estate that does not stand still and quality seems to remain on an ascendant. The top cuvees show the two faces of the traditional Priorat grape varieties. We currently focus on top cuvee Les Manyes, along with single vineyards Les Tosses and L’Arbosar, and the white ‘Pedra de Guix’.
The wine
Arbossar is made from up to 90+ year old Carignan vines growing in the north-facing 1.6-hectare L’Arbossar vineyard, at 400 meters altitude. Grapes are fermented whole bunch and the wine is then left to age for 12-16 months in cement tanks to preserve purity and terroir expression. Arbossar has layers of ripe and succulent blue and red fruits, with a generous yet chiseled texture and herbaceous finish. Only around 4,000 bottles are produced of each vintage.
