The producer
Domaine Bachelet-Monnot, founded in 2005 by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, spans 12 hectares in the Côte de Beaune, with key holdings in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet, and premier cru vineyards like Les Charmes in Meursault and Les Combettes in Puligny-Montrachet. The estate practices low yields and biodynamic farming to ensure high-quality fruit that reflects the terroir of each site.
In the winery, the wines are made with minimal intervention, using native yeasts for fermentation. Chardonnay is fermented in a mix of oak barrels (20-25% new) and stainless steel, with extended lees aging to add texture. For Pinot Noir, whole-cluster fermentation is employed, focusing on gentle extraction. The wines are known for their purity, balance, and aging potential, with vibrant acidity and nuanced minerality.
The wine
Domaine Bachelet-Montrnot’s Puligny-Montrachet Village, sourced from 2 hectares of carefully tended vineyards, is fermented with native yeasts in a mix of 20-25% new oak and stainless steel, followed by 12-18 months aging on lees. The wine expresses a balance of citrus, white flower, and mineral notes, with bright acidity and a touch of oak influence.
