Uco Valley is home to several of Argentina’s top wine producers. Situated an hour’s drive south of the city of Mendoza, Uco is roughly 70 km long and 22 km wide. Vineyards are planted at elevations up to 1,100 meters, which are some of the highest in the county, and higher than, other well-known Mendoza sub regions, Maipu, and Lujan de Cuyo. Uco Valley has a dry continental climate, with high day time temperatures and intense sunlight which aids the ripening of grapes and development of ripe tannic structures, while cool nights preserve aromatic precision and freshness in the wines. The soils are alluvial with a clay rock base, and the wines have incredible black fruit concentration, yet with polished texture and distinct violet aromatics.
