Quinta do Noval

Quinta do Noval’s modern history starts in 1993 when it is taken over by the AXA insurance group, and an extensive replanting and regeneration program of vineyards and cellars is carried out. Situated just outside Pinhao, in the heart of the Douro Valley, Quinta do Noval is one of the oldest and one of the absolute finest producers in Portugal.

Tradition is maintained at the Noval winery with fruit for all wines being foot trodden in traditional stone troughs, called lagares, to achieve maximum colour, tannins, and extraction. Noval’s flagship wine, the Nacional Vintage Port is made from a tiny plot of ungrafted vines and is arguably the most sought after Port there is, while the Noval Vintage Port and Aged Tawnies are truly some of the finest coming out of the region.
