Domaine Marc Sorrel

While other producers have waved their own flags in Hermitage, Marc Sorrel has always quietly gone about his own business as a dedicated grower, most often found looking after the vines in the vineyard. Today Sorrel owns 2.55 hectares of red and white grapes in some of the most famous vineyards on the Hermitage hill.

His vines are now all about 60 years old and produce two cuvees – Le Greal a blend of fruit from Le Meal mainly and with a small proportion of fruit from Le Greffieux and a single vineyard Hermitage Blanc Les Rocoules. Le Greal is richly structured with amazing depth and dark fruits and can age for decades. Marc Sorrel’s son Guillaume took over in 2019 so watch this space!
