Domaine Bonneau du Martray

Bonneau du Martray was in the le Bault de la Moriniere family since just after the French Revolution. It suffered under various stewardships until during the management of the last generation of the family Jean-Charles revived its fortunes and established a fine reputation for both the white and red. The 11.09 hectares of the domaine is one continuous block on the Pernand side of the hill with 9.5ha of white Corton-Charlemagne and, unusually, 1.59ha of red Corton. Despite being more suited to the production of Chardonnay, the red Corton has been a worthy contender in recent decades. The domaine is now farmed biodynamically and the wines have had an international reputation for the last several decades.

After two hundred years in the same family Bonneau de Martray was purchased by American Billionaire Stan Kroenke in 2016. Kroenke owns the renowned Napa vineyard Screaming Eagle and reportedly plans to invest in even greater improvements of the wines from Bonneau de Matray.
