Specializing in producing exquisite single-varietal, single-vineyard Champagnes, the estate focuses primarily on the Pinot Noir grape variety. The meticulous attention to detail, coupled with low-intervention winemaking methods, results in wines that reflect the unique terroir of their vineyards. Embracing a philosophy of minimalism, Cédric Bouchard's dedication to crafting expressive and terroir-driven Champagnes has positioned Roses de Jeanne as a benchmark producer in the Champagne region, celebrated by enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike for the purity and finesse evident in each bottle.

The wine

Les Ursules Blanc de Noirs is an exceptional wine crafted by Roses de Jeanne, the visionary Champagne producer led by Cédric Bouchard. This particular cuvée is a Blanc de Noirs. The name "Les Ursules" pays homage to a historic vineyard in the Aube region of Champagne. This wine is a testament to the estate's dedication to organic and biodynamic farming practices, allowing the expression of the terroir to shine through. With its captivating complexity, Les Ursules Blanc de Noirs is known for its rich texture, balanced by vibrant acidity. The meticulous attention to detail in both the vineyard and the cellar results in a Champagne that captures the essence of the region, making it a sought-after and highly regarded offering in the world of fine wines.

We choose our wines based on a range of criteria (see how we choose our wines) of which critic scores is just one. Rather than simply highlight the best score to promote a wine, our average critic score is calculated from the scores provided by several respected wine critics, who we follow for specific regions. They do not represent all critic scores and, wherever possible, we try and give more weight to more recent reviews. Where appropriate we consider market-based scores like Global Wine Score or Wine Searcher Average scores.

As a rule, we look to offer wines that achieve a 92/100 average critic score or better and frankly a lot of very good wines simply don’t make the cut. As a high-end provider we want to reflect that positioning in the quality of wines we offer. Such wines are only a tiny fraction of those generally on offer in the market. We believe that an average score is a more conservative and representative approach, but it is still subjective and only offered as a guide to our customers, who will (and should) do their own research. We will add individual critic scores to our website in the future.
